Adoption fees for livestock and pets waived at SPCA Tampa Bay

LARGO, Florida – For anyone with the random urge to adopt a pet, it seems like the universe is working in your favor!

The Tampa Bay SPCA plans to waive all adoption fees at its Livestock-Pocket Pet Palooza event. People are invited to say hello to their new forever friend.

The event begins on Friday July 8 and ends on Sunday July 17. Be sure to check the organization’s website for hours. The adoption office will be closed July 11-12.

Farm animals and the majority of pets like small birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and even reptiles will be available to adopt for free.

“More than 50 furry, fluffy or bouncy pocket pets are waiting for loving homes,” SPCA Tampa Bay officials say in a news release. “These animal companions come in all shapes and sizes and they are waiting to be adopted.”

People can also wander to the For-All Shelter in Largo to meet three little piggies named Henry, Frank, and Spaz. Following the excitement, the association also has two young peacocks and two ducks to adopt named Aflac and Alpha.

“Pets can bring love to a family that lasts a lifetime,” the nonprofit leaders explain in the statement. “Staff and volunteers at the SPCA Tampa Bay can help families find a pet that suits their lifestyle. The adoption team focuses on matching families and pets for a successful long-term.”
