Grilled ground duck meat

Special grilled duck minced meat

Van Dinh Town in Ung Hoa District of Hanoi has been famous for grilled and boiled duck for many years. Everyone who comes, especially during the Huong Pagoda festival season, wants to taste the dishes.

Over the past two years, the people of Van Dinh have created a new dish – cha vit, or grilled ground duck. It’s not difficult to make, but it takes more effort and time than any other type of grilled minced meat made from fish, pork, and beef. This is because duck is a kind of poultry meat and it has bones. It is necessary to remove the bones before treatment.

While other grilled minced meat dishes are eaten all year round, cha vit is mainly ordered in the second half of the lunar months, not the first days of the months, as people think they may have bad luck if they eat duck at this time.

Cha vit can be stored for a long time at low temperatures, but sellers recommend using it within 3-6 months.
