Fender launches the Amperstand, a guitar stand and pocket pick holder

We understood. A guitar stand isn’t the most glamorous item you can add to your gear collection. But a new product launched by Fender could well change the game, at least in terms of convenience.

The Amperstand Guitar Cradle is a pocket-sized guitar stand that can be placed on a multitude of surfaces via non-adhesive micro-suction material, freeing up space and eliminating the need for a heavy guitar stand.

Capable of gripping “pretty much any surface” according to Fender – including tolex guitar amps – the Amperstand also features a classic Fender “ashtray” based on the bridge design of vintage Telecasters – perfect for holding guitar picks, a capo or even your favorite drink – plus two grooves that can hold a guitar cable securely in place.

Thanks to its adhesive-free design, the Amperstand can be removed and placed elsewhere easily, without leaving marks or residue.

In terms of specifics, the product is made in the USA from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), which Fender claims is safe to use with the majority of guitar finishes.

The guitar giant, however, states that “sweat and other environmental contaminants can produce chemical reactions between the finish and the components of the stand that cannot be predicted or tested.”

The Amperstand is available now for $19.99. For more information, visit Fender (opens in a new tab).
