How much Manchester United target Mauricio Pochettino would pocket from PSG sacking

Manchester United managerial candidate Mauricio Pochettino has been in torrid form lately and reports suggest it could cost Paris Saint-Germain £17m to sack the Argentine and his team.

United have been in the hunt for a permanent head coach since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November. The former Tottenham boss has been heavily linked with the job, as he was before taking on the role in the French capital.

Ever since their shock Champions League exit in the Round of 16 against Real Madrid, Pochettino and his team have come under intense scrutiny. Criticism intensified after Sunday’s dismal 3-0 loss to Monaco, despite his side still holding a solid lead at the top of Ligue 1.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, it could cost PSG £17million to fire Pochettino and his coaching staff. The former Spurs manager is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and he would receive the majority of said sum, pocketing £13million if he were to be relieved of his duties.

His assistants, it was said, would receive £4m split between the four of them. Jesus Perez, who was with him in north London, is said to be earning €80,000 a month (£66,000).

While Pochettino is certainly under consideration at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag is the preferred option. However, Sky Sports have revealed that alongside the Dutchman and Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui are also in contention.
