Pocket FM strengthens its management team; appoints Shubh Bansal as Vice President of Growth
Mumbai: Personalized audio streaming service Pocket FM has announced the appointment of Shubh Bansal as Vice President of Growth and Rahul Nag as Head of Communications. Bansal and Nag will both report to CEO and co-founder of Pocket FM, Rohan Nayak.
With these appointments, the company aims to intensify its efforts to accelerate revenue, accelerate growth initiatives and elevate its brand positioning, it said in a statement.
Bansal will lead listener business growth initiatives and new business opportunities. He was co-founder of Truebil, an automotive technology platform acquired by Spinny, where he was responsible for growth, marketing and revenue. Prior to Truebil, he was associated with Housing.com.
Nag will drive stakeholder engagement through external, social media, and internal communications, while establishing Pocket FM as a culture-focused internet organization. With over a decade and a half of experience in the communications landscape, he has worked with organizations such as Flock, Mindtree and ShareChat. In his previous roles, he led crisis communications for Mindtree during the L&T takeover dispute and helped lead communications for ShareChat and Moj.

According to the company, it recently raised $65 million in Series C funding to double down on its strategic priorities of building AI capabilities, multiplying its listener base with new languages, and strengthening its community of creators. The company has already hired senior executives to address those priorities and continues to aggressively seek product and technology talent, he said. Pocket FM has raised $93.6 million to date and is backed by high profile investors including Lightspeed, Times Group, Tanglin Venture Partners, Goodwater Capital and Naver.
