Pant, the flamboyant wicket-keeper batsman, silenced all the critics with his sensational century on Sunday. His undefeated 125-point shot not only won India the series, but also proved magic for their own records. His caliber was well known in the Test format but was often shrouded in doubt in the white ball credit.
Pant has now entered the elusive list of Indian cricketers to mark a century outside of Asia. He is now the third Indian wicket-keeper striker to achieve the feat after Rahul Dravid and KL Rahul.

His innings against England also showed his maturity on the pitch. After early defeats by Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, the pressure shifted to Rishabh Pant. While there were huge expectations from Suryakumar Yadav, he also failed to impress. Afterwards, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya went to knit the sleeves for a series victory.
Pandya’s 71 from 55 balls helped build a 133-run stand for the fifth wicket which helped India grab the game. For magnificent performances, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya were awarded.
Rishabh Pant won the ‘Player of the Match’ award, while Hardik Pandya picked up the ‘Player of the Series’ award.
